Job description
The client, an energy sector company, is seeking a Planning Engineer for secondary substation planning. This role involves technical planning and design of high and extra-high voltage energy facilities, including new and refurbishment projects.
Project overview
My client, a company in the energy sector, is looking for support in the form of a Planning Engineer in the secondary planning of substations.
In this role, you will be responsible for the technical planning and design of energy facilities in the high and extra-high voltage ranges. You will be significantly involved in the development and implementation of new and refurbishment projects – from the initial technical concept through CAD-based planning to the calculation and design of individual plant components. In close cooperation with project management, assembly, and customers, you will contribute to the successful realization of demanding infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
Technical planning of electrical systems in various voltage levels using different insulation and construction concepts.
Development of solutions for control, protection, and monitoring systems as well as for internal power supply systems (AC/DC) within the plant.
Technical support in the technical supervision of energy infrastructure facilities with a focus on the integration of renewable energy sources.
Contact person for executing teams on the construction site regarding questions about equipment and technology in the area of secondary systems, as well as in the selection of suitable components (e.g., control and protection systems).
Control and support of the technical project progress, including defining technical standards, quality assurance for external services, and coordination with project partners.
Requirements
Completed studies in electrical engineering or industrial engineering (Bachelor, Master, or Diploma), preferably with a focus on energy technology, or alternatively a qualification as a technician in electrical engineering / energy technology or a comparable technical training (e.g., mechatronics, mechanical engineering).
Initial or in-depth practical experience in the technical planning of energy facilities in the high-voltage environment – especially in the area of primary technical components is an advantage.
Proficient handling of common planning software, ideally with AutoCAD (2D/3D) and/or specialized tools like Primtech – as well as solid knowledge of MS Office.
Very good German language skills in speaking and writing (at least level B2) and willingness to travel occasionally for project support.
Independent, team-oriented, and service-conscious way of working with strong communication skills and commitment in the project context.
