Platform Engineer – OpenShift, Container Security & GitOps | Remote

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for an experienced freelance Platform Engineer with a focus on container platforms, cloud infrastructure, and cluster security.

The project focuses on the reliable operation and further development of an OpenShift-based hybrid cloud environment, as well as the implementation and optimization of security, automation, and GitOps processes.

Responsibilities

Administration, operation, and monitoring of an OpenShift-based hybrid cloud infrastructure

Installation, configuration, and administration of container-based applications

Further development of installation and configuration automation according to the GitOps principle with ArgoCD, Terraform, and Ansible

Conception, implementation, and enforcement of security and compliance policies using Kyverno and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (RHACS)

Implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps

Technical support and enablement of development teams in using the platforms and deployment processes

Creation and maintenance of technical documentation as well as operational processes and procedures

Requirements

Sound practical experience in the administration and operation of Red Hat OpenShift

Experience in policy management with Kyverno

Knowledge of Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (RHACS)

Very good knowledge of ArgoCD and GitOps-based deployment processes

Experience with Microsoft Azure and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

Experience in creating and configuring Helm Charts

Sound knowledge in building and operating stable cloud and container platforms

Experience with agile working methods such as Scrum or Kanban

Desirable Additional Qualifications

Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially Azure DevOps

Experience with on-premises and hybrid cloud infrastructures

Project experience in regulated or security-critical environments

Experience with monitoring and logging solutions, for example Elasticsearch
