Platform Security & DevSecOps Engineer

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Platform Security & DevSecOps Engineer for a freelance project in the area of enterprise platforms. You will play a key role in the development and implementation of comprehensive security policies and validation processes.

Your tasks include the development of security policies for application onboarding as well as for build, deployment, and operating processes. You will define onboarding criteria, security standards, and approval processes for applications. Furthermore, you will identify security vulnerabilities, risks, and dependencies and support security assessments of platform use cases. An important aspect of your work is to ensure that security controls are practical, appropriate, and designed in a way that does not unnecessarily hinder implementation.

We expect extensive experience in cloud and platform security architecture, ideally in AWS environments. Proven experience in developing platforms with security-by-design principles is required, including application onboarding and security guardrails. You should have sound knowledge of DevSecOps and securing CI/CD processes, including code, dependency, and secrets reviews, as well as container and infrastructure-as-code security. Strong understanding of container and Kubernetes security, preferably with Amazon EKS experience, is required.

Experience collaborating with stakeholders from security, engineering, operations, and architecture is important. Experience with security governance and managing security controls is an advantage.
