PostgreSQL Database Engineer/ PostgreSQL DBA / Azure Cloud / Banking 100%/ ZH

Project Focus: For a demanding IT environment, we are looking for an experienced database specialist with a focus on PostgreSQL and Azure. The focus is on the stable and secure operation, optimization, and continuous automation of a large and complex database landscape.

Responsibilities

• Administration, operation, and further development of PostgreSQL databases
• Analysis and optimization of performance, scalability, and stability
• Operation and management of PostgreSQL in the Azure Cloud
• Automation of database processes such as provisioning, configuration, backup & recovery, monitoring, and scaling
• Development and further development of Infrastructure-as-Code solutions
• Troubleshooting and processing of incidents and requests
• Implementation of best practices in the areas of security, high availability, and performance
• Collaboration with internal IT and infrastructure teams
• Consulting and knowledge transfer as well as creation of technical documentation

Utilization: 100% Hybrid (only within Switzerland)

• 8-12 years of professional experience in the database environment
• Sound expertise in PostgreSQL administration, operation, optimization, and automation
• Experience with PostgreSQL in large and complex environments
• Very good knowledge of Azure Cloud, especially Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or comparable automation tools
• Good knowledge of backup/recovery, monitoring, performance tuning, and high availability
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, and CI/CD
• Independent, analytical, and solution-oriented way of working
• Good communication and consulting skills
• Technologies: PostgreSQL, Azure, Terraform/Ansible, IaC, CI/CD & DevOps.
• German: Fluent C1
