PostgreSQL Database Engineer / Azure / Terraform / Ansible/ 100%/ ZH

Project: You operate and optimize a large PostgreSQL landscape on Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server and automate database processes with Terraform, Ansible, or comparable IaC tools. You ensure performance, security, and stability, and optimize monitoring as well as backup and recovery processes.

Start November at 100% in Zurich for 10 months.

Responsibilities

• Analysis, operation, and continuous optimization of the existing PostgreSQL database landscape
• Identification and resolution of performance bottlenecks, as well as optimization of scalability and resource utilization
• Automation of database processes such as provisioning, configuration, monitoring, backup, recovery, and scaling
• Implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions with Terraform, Ansible, or comparable technologies
• Ensuring stable, secure, and highly available database operations
• Monitoring database performance and handling incidents and service requests
• Implementation of best practices for performance tuning, security configurations, and high availability
• Close collaboration with the internal database team, as well as technical consulting and knowledge transfer
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
• Application of DevOps principles and support for automated CI/CD processes

• Several years of practical experience in the administration, operation, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases in large, productive environments
• Sound experience with Microsoft Azure, especially with Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Flexible Server
• Experience in automating database processes and using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Practical knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, or comparable automation tools
• Experience with PostgreSQL from version 15 onwards
• Sound knowledge of performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, as well as database security and high availability
• German: C1
• English: B2
