Product Architect – Java / Spring Boot / Microservices

Your Role

Own the product’s technical architecture and technology strategy, translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. Combine architectural leadership with strong hands-on engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Required Skills

• Design and evolve enterprise backend and event-driven architectures, covering service boundaries, APIs, integrations, messaging, and data persistence strategies.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct architecture and design reviews, and support teams with complex engineering challenges.
• Own technology decisions, technical roadmaps, and architecture standards; manage technical debt, architectural risks, and modernization.
• Align architecture with Product Owners, business stakeholders, the System Architect, System Team, engineering, DevOps, and database specialists.
• Ensure security, performance, resilience, high availability, and observability; maintain architecture documentation and decision records.
• Proven experience in software/solution architecture, technical leadership, and designing large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, Apache Kafka, and automated testing.
• Solid knowledge of DDD, Clean Architecture, design patterns, and integration and messaging patterns.
• Strong expertise in Hibernate/JPA, SQL, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL, including data modeling, transactions, indexing, performance tuning, replication, and distributed data management.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architecture with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, Terraform/IaC, monitoring, and logging.
• Knowledge of application/API security, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, authentication, authorization, and secure development practices.

Nice to have

CQRS/Event Sourcing, MongoDB/Redis, Azure/GCP, API gateways/service meshes, architecture governance/ADRs, and experience with legacy migrations, large-scale Agile multi-team environments, and mentoring senior engineers and technical leads.
