Project Description – Senior DevOps Engineer

Project overview

For a long-term transformation and digitalization program, an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer is sought to support a cloud-native development and operations environment. The focus is on building, further developing, and operating modern platform and automation solutions, as well as establishing sustainable DevOps processes throughout the entire software lifecycle. Collaboration takes place in agile, interdisciplinary teams using modern frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.

Your Activities

The Profile Sought

• Conception, setup, and further development of highly available cloud and container platforms based on modern Kubernetes architectures
• Implementation, standardization, and continuous optimization of CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, and deployment processes
• Automation of infrastructure and operations processes using Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and individual script and tool development
• Ensuring stable, performant, and scalable operations through proactive monitoring, performance analysis, and continuous optimization measures
• Implementation and further development of security, compliance, and governance requirements, including IAM, container, and platform security concepts
• Analysis and resolution of disruptions within the scope of incident, problem, and change management, as well as sustainable optimization of operational quality
• Close collaboration with development, architecture, and product teams to introduce and establish modern DevOps practices and operating models
• Creation of technical documentation, evaluation of new technologies, and support for workshops, releases, go-live activities, and agile project formats

• More than 5 years of experience in building and operating CI/CD pipelines
• More than 5 years of experience with Kubernetes and container platforms
• More than 5 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code and GitOps
• Demonstrable project experience in AWS and/or Azure environments
• Experience in using AI-supported development and operations tools Should-Have Criteria
• Experience with observability and monitoring solutions
• Experience with security and compliance automation
• Knowledge of IT Service Management according to ITIL
• Experience with agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture and messaging systems
• Backend and integration development with Java/Spring Boot
• Location: Frankfurt am Main (Onshore Germany)
• Total scope: 710 person-days (approx. 5,680 hours)
• Duration: 16.10.2026 to 31.12.2029
• On-site portion: 71 person-days (10%)
• Remote portion: 639 person-days (90%)
• The work will be predominantly performed remotely.
• A total of 71 person-days are planned on-site in Frankfurt am Main for workshops, project meetings, coordination, commissioning, and special project events.
