Job description

The Project Manager IAM is a key figure in complex (IT) change processes and projects for the Ministry of Defence. The role involves managing projects, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Project overview

Assignment Description

The Project Manager IAM is a key figure in complex (IT) change processes, projects, and the further development of the Defence organization. The further development involves the transformation of the Defence organization into an agile, future-proof IT powerhouse: one that pushes technological boundaries, delivers business value, and can respond to any strategic challenge with a digital first-mover advantage.

Due to the close coherence, this is a dynamic and complex whole, where much is subject to change and you will also have to take on and/or initiate a lot yourself and continue to inquire in close cooperation with the management of the management teams.

What will you do?

Projects and Management

You will draw up a business case together with the client and write the project plan, the plan of approach, and other project and change documentation. You will manage the project team in terms of planning and capacity, in consultation with the project and management responsibles. You are the point of contact for progress. You will track progress and results and proactively communicate about them with responsibles and stakeholders.

Engaging People

You will actively involve all stakeholders in the activities and objectives. You will take on a coaching role and help colleagues develop.

Coordination and Representation

You will represent IAM project and change management at an operational and/or tactical level in meetings and networks. You will liaise with stakeholders to determine priorities. You will coordinate with the parties involved in the realization.

Broader Task Package

Due to the close cooperation with the management team, you may also be assigned tasks that do not directly arise from an IAM project assignment. Consider:

Translating Goals: you will manage a coherent set of (sub)projects to achieve strategic and tactical goals and monitor planning, budget, and interests across all projects, not just your own.

Identifying and Implementing: you will identify needs elsewhere in the organization with an impact on IAM and address them.

Stakeholder Management: you will proactively involve stakeholders and ensure their expectations are aligned.

Guidance and Coaching: you will help determine the course, provide input for setting priorities, make agreements, and monitor progress. You will stimulate ownership and self-direction by asking questions, giving feedback, and building trust.

Knowledge Sharing: you will represent IAM project management and share knowledge during meetings and training days.
