Job description
Seeking a highly experienced C++ legacy developer to technically take over and support an established Oracle OSCAR point-of-sale system. The role focuses on stability, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer until the system's end-of-life in late 2028.
Project overview
For a point-of-sale system used internationally, we are looking for a highly experienced freelancer with proven expertise in C++, legacy systems, and the technical takeover of historically grown applications.
The point-of-sale system is based on Oracle OSCAR and is currently operated productively in several European countries. It is a business-critical application with a long history and an established customer base. Strategic further development is not currently planned. The focus is on stability, operational security, knowledge retention, and the ability to analyze errors and make necessary adjustments.
To ensure operational continuity, an external specialist is sought to technically take over the existing solution, understand the development and build environment, and serve as a competent point of contact for analysis, troubleshooting, and hotfix development in the medium term.
The existing point-of-sale system will be decommissioned at the end of 2028. Support must be ensured until then.
Important: In case of acute need, support must begin immediately!
