Project/System Engineer Network Infrastructure

Project overview

We are currently looking for an experienced expert in network infrastructure and network architecture for one of our clients. Your responsibilities include:

• Analysis of customer requirements in the field of network technology and translation into technical specifications
• Creation of system specifications, design descriptions, interface documents, and delivery documents
• Development of an interface concept and definition of network architecture participants
• Selection of suitable hardware, software, and subcontractors, taking into account maritime standards and IT security requirements
• Configuration and implementation of the network architecture on board ships and submarines, including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies
• Analysis of existing system architectures to select optimal solutions
• Conducting technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including security clearances
• Participation in the creation of test documentation and security certificates
• Coordination of national and international consultations with shipyards, suppliers, classification societies, and authorities

• Comprehensive experience in information/electrical/communications engineering or comparable qualification
• Experience in network infrastructure and network architectures
• Experience with routing, switching, firewall, and VPN technologies
• Experience in IT security and information security
• Knowledge of cryptographic systems and requirements
• Experience in creating technical specifications and interface documentation
• Confident use of MS Office
• German and English
