Project Manager (Senior) – SAP S/4HANA Transformation

Project overview

Involvement exclusively through a company: either through your current employer on a contracting basis or directly through us for the project duration. Sole proprietors and non-contributory functions cannot be considered.

For an ongoing SAP S/4HANA transformation program, we are looking for support as a sub-project manager. The focus is on the end-to-end leadership of a sub-project to connect two business applications to the SAP landscape, in a hybrid environment of internal and external teams. The activity is predominantly remote from Germany, i.e., onshore, with regular on-site appointments for workshops.

There are two possible ways of collaboration:

Collaboration as a sole proprietor or in a non-contributory function, such as a managing director of your own company, is not possible. Please refrain from applying in these cases.

An application is only meaningful if almost all requirements are met, meaning at least 90 to 95 percent of the must-have and should-have criteria. Profiles that are significantly below this cannot be pursued. Please check this honestly beforehand before contacting us.

• Hourly rate: €90 remote + travel expense allowance
• Duration: 13.11.2026 to 31.03.2028, approximately 200 person-days in the main year
• On-site share: around 10 percent, mainly workshops
• German at near-native level (C2)
• You are already an employee of a consulting or IT service company that offers you to us on a contracting basis.
• Or you join our team directly for the project duration, if the former does not apply to you.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end project management of a sub-project for connecting two business applications to the SAP and corporate SAP landscape
• Setting up, monitoring, and merging all functional, technical, and organizational work packages
• Cross-departmental coordination across all business areas and companies
• Stakeholder, risk, quality, dependency, and escalation management
• Governance-compliant preparation of decisions and steering committees
• Maintaining the sub-project plan and contributing to the overall project plan in MS Project
• Preparation, moderation, and follow-up of central stakeholder, working, and committee meetings

Requirements

Suitable profiles should please send a current CV stating the years and references mentioned, preferably with a brief description of what fits.

• Leadership of SAP S/4HANA projects with complex system and interface dependencies, including data migration (min. 5 years)
• Demonstrable experience with SAP integrations for finance and procurement processes (min. 2 references)
• Classic project management as a project manager, including robust schedule, milestone, resource, and dependency planning (min. 2 references)
• Experience with hybrid or agile methodologies and collaboration with agile teams, especially SAFe or Scrum (min. 1 reference)
• Demonstrable expertise in SAP Asset Management (min. 2 references)
• Experience as a project manager or sub-project manager in an SAP transformation project with functional or technical leadership
• Experience with Atlassian Confluence (min. 3 years)
• Experience with Atlassian Jira (min. 3 years)
• Knowledge and application of the SAP Activate Framework in project management (min. 3 years)
• Knowledge of interface technologies (IDoc, RFC, OData/REST) (min. 3 years)
• Knowledge of SAP BTP
