Task

We are looking for an experienced Python & Cloud Native Software Engineer for one of our clients. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take on a central technical role in an agile development team at Telekom. In addition to developing sophisticated software solutions, you will be responsible for the technical quality of the implementation, support the team as a technical contact person, and actively contribute to shaping the software architecture.

You will technically lead the team, establish best practices, and ensure sustainable and high-quality software development through code reviews, architectural decisions, and mentoring. You will work closely with product owners, architects, and other development teams. The Digital Solution Connectivity (DSO CNS) consists of employees from both business and technical areas and is responsible for the conception, development, operation, and continuous improvement of digital connectivity solutions. For the "RIO" team, we are looking for a dedicated, self-reliant, and motivated Senior Software Developer.

The "RIO" team ensures that our technical data, network resources, and infrastructure can be reliably captured, processed, and controlled. It creates important reports (e.g., NISV-QS), supports operational communication, supports billing, and orchestrates technical resources to ensure that products and services are correctly provisioned. In addition, Rio is responsible for asset and technical room management – i.e., transparency and maintenance of our physical networks, facilities, and cabling, as well as the logical relationships of services.

• Residence in Switzerland, preferably in the Bern region
• At least 8 years of professional experience in professional software development
• Several years of experience as a Senior Developer, Technical Lead, or Lead Engineer
• Excellent knowledge of Python and modern Python frameworks, especially FastAPI
• Experience with FastStream and event-driven architectures
• Very good knowledge in the development and operation of microservices
• Solid experience with Apache Kafka
• Several years of experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Very good knowledge of API management and the design and development of REST APIs
• Experience in creating and evaluating software architectures
• Demonstrable experience in conducting code reviews and establishing development standards
• Experience with Clean Architecture, Clean Code, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and test automation
• Very good knowledge of Git and modern CI/CD processes
• Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and a high awareness of quality
• Very good German and good English skills
• Experience in the telecommunications environment (OSS/BSS, network management, provisioning, or service orchestration)
• Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs, Open Digital Architecture (ODA), or comparable industry standards
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and DevSecOps
• Knowledge in the area of observability (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform or Ansible)
