QA/QC Consultant for CCS Project

Assignment Description

Our client is seeking QA/QC expertise for an ongoing CCS project.

The consultant will work with quality control and quality assurance related to the project's mechanical and electrical deliveries. The assignment includes reviewing, following up, and controlling manufacturing, installation, and documentation, as well as ensuring that the project's deliveries meet applicable requirements and regulations.

The work will be carried out in close collaboration with the project organization, suppliers, and contractors.

Background and Project Information

Öresundskraft is an energy company in the Helsingborg and Ängelholm regions, wholly owned by the City of Helsingborg. The City of Helsingborg aims to drive the transition to a climate-friendly society and has set a goal to reduce fossil emissions from district heating production to near net-zero by 2030 at the latest.

Öresundskraft provides district heating, district cooling, electricity, and distributes natural gas and biogas. Within the Helsingborg region, the waste-fired combined heat and power plant, Filbornaverket, accounts for the largest point source of carbon dioxide emissions.

To achieve the city's climate goals, Öresundskraft has been working since 2020 on a project to implement carbon capture at Filbornaverket. The goal is to have a full-scale carbon capture facility in place by the end of 2029. The carbon dioxide will then be transported to a geological final repository.

Öresundskraft has contracted Linde Engineering GmbH as the supplier of the carbon capture facility. The supplier has completed FEED (Front End Engineering and Design). In the autumn of 2026, the execution phase of the project, EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction), will begin. The project is being carried out in a partnering model, which involves close collaboration with the supplier.
