QA Test Engineer

Project overview

As QA Test Engineer, you are the conscience of the development team. You feel responsible for the final product, monitor overall quality, and steer accordingly.

Whether it concerns the accessibility of curative care, digital health innovations, the approach to youth care, or promoting a healthy lifestyle: work at VWS affects everyone in the Netherlands. From The Hague, the ministry works closely with partners, ministries, and implementing organizations such as RIVM, IGJ, and CIBG.

Within the teams, you will have the opportunity to translate policy into societal impact, shape complex legislation, and truly make a difference for citizens, patients, and clients.

• You take the lead in chain testing and the release process.
• You translate requirements into clear, risk-based test cases.
• You perform thorough functional tests. You do not write automated tests.
• You analyze and test requirements and ask critical questions about them.
• You naturally apply Privacy and Security by Design in your work.
• You analyze performance and actively contribute to process and software improvements.
• Candidate demonstrably possesses WO (University) work and thinking level. Verifiable in CV and motivation (evidenced by completed education and/or at least 2 years of work experience at WO level)
• Candidate possesses at least 3 years of experience with software testing in a comparable role
• Candidate possesses experience with chain testing where data is exchanged with third parties and testing apps on mobile devices
• You have extensive experience with functional testing, chain testing, and release management, preferably within an Agile/Scrum environment
• You have coordinating experience and maintain an overview, easily take the lead in chain testing and releases, and dare to act as the owner of the final product
• You have experience with digital accessibility (expert available in the team)
• You have a keen eye for security and privacy
• You possess strong communication skills, the courage to ask probing questions, and the ability to bring structure
• You possess test devices (iOS and Android)
• You have good oral and written skills in Dutch
