Job description

A large German bank is expanding a long-term platform project by adding a new team focused on end-to-end test automation. This role involves building and operating the test automation pipeline, integrating tooling, and writing glue code.

Project overview

A large German bank is expanding a long-term platform project with a new team. The platform consists of Spring Boot microservices communicating via Kafka and running on Kubernetes. Four teams are already developing functional features. The new team tests the entire platform end-to-end in an automated test suite. They are responsible for the tooling and pipeline of test automation and write the code that connects the tools. This is an engineering role with a lot of hands-on involvement, not test management.

Responsibilities

  • Building and operating the end-to-end test automation pipeline across the entire platform
  • Integrating test tooling into CI/CD and Kubernetes deployments with Helm and ArgoCD
  • Creating behavior-driven tests with Playwright and Gauge
  • Building API integrations between test tooling, Jira, Confluence, and ALM Octane to document test evidence for regulatory purposes
  • Tracking and debugging Kafka message flows between services
  • Implementing complex business processes in automated tests
  • Collaborating with test managers, architects, and business departments of the client
