Job description
Project overview
We are seeking 1 2 Master's or PhD interns specializing in robotics, mechatronics, or AI. You will play a hands-on role in designing, prototyping, and validating robotic subsystems for retail food automation. This includes programming robotic arms, grippers for ingredient handling, sensor fusion, and machine vision for quality control.
Responsibilities
- Support system architecture, component specification, and integration of robotic hardware and control software.
- Develop and refine computer vision, motion planning, and control algorithms (ROS, Python/C++, PLC).
- Ensure compliance with food safety protocols in robotic end-effectors and materials.
- Participate in prototype development, lab testing, and field deployment at QSR test locations.
- Design and test operator interfaces, performance dashboards, and data collection workflows (assembly times, error tracking, efficiency).
- Contribute to documentation, troubleshooting, and process optimization for scalability.
