Job description
We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer with expertise in PM, Maintenance, and MM modules, preferably with experience in the German railway industry. The role involves analyzing existing systems, programming, implementing technical components, and participating in software project planning and design.
Project overview
The service provider independently and self-organized provides the following services:
Analysis of current systems, applications, and architectures, as well as a technical assessment of their suitability with regard to the defined target architecture specifications.
Programming / implementation / customizing of technical components in applications based on the technologies used, including associated interfaces, modules, and corresponding databases, in compliance with the client's standards (e.g., use of standardized development environments and programming guidelines).
Participation in the planning, design, and implementation of software projects.
Writing clean, efficient, and fully documented code using appropriate software development practices and standards.
Fixing bugs from test phases in the applications / components.
Documentation of technical designs.
Creation of system documentation.
Creation of delivery packages for the relevant applications.
Review of technical solutions for future viability.
Conception of user-centric web applications based on cloud technologies.
Conception of functional interfaces between applications and processes.
Development of user-centric web applications based on cloud technologies.
Transfer of design concepts into development for the implementation of prototypes, as well as consulting on technical aspects of implementation.
Creation of database structures and establishment of interfaces between databases and systems as a basis for documentation and decision-making.
Testing and debugging of software applications to ensure they meet the specified quality standards.
Creation of technical documentation of the development process.
Creation and handover of an operations and development manual.
Participation in relevant technical meetings and provision of regular updates to project managers and relevant project team members.
Participation in code reviews and provision of constructive feedback to other developers.

Requirements
For the offer evaluation, the technical assessment will be weighted at 70% and the commercial assessment at 30%.

The evaluation criteria and their weighting listed under "Soll-Anforderungen" (Should-Requirements) will be considered in the technical-functional offer evaluation according to their importance.

Very good knowledge of the SAP system landscape, especially in the area of maintenance for railway vehicles at a railway transport company.
Very good knowledge of development with SAP ABAP and ABAP OO.
Current knowledge of SAP interface technologies & connections, especially regarding the AAR interface.
Very good practical experience in SAP modules MM, PM, and possibly other adjacent modules.
Practical experience in vehicle target documentation.
Further technical requirements (Evaluation criteria / Should-Requirements)
S4/HANA experience.
Practical experience in documenting technical designs.
Mobile SAP development.
Experience in establishing and using quality assurance processes and procedures.
Knowledge in bug fixing.
Work as a developer in an agile project environment.
