Project overview

Our client is preparing for a strategic transformation from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. Within the current program, a backlog has arisen in the preparatory activities related to data migration, data quality, and migration readiness. To successfully realize the planned transition, this backlog must be cleared in the short term.

Therefore, we are looking for an experienced SAP Data Migration Consultant who can be deployed quickly and deliver immediate operational value. The consultant will be responsible for accelerating data migration preparations, improving data quality, and creating a solid foundation for a successful migration to SAP S/4HANA.

Goal of the role

The consultant will support the program in clearing existing backlogs in data migration activities and ensure timely preparation of all relevant data objects for the migration to SAP S/4HANA. The focus is on analyzing, cleaning, enriching, validating, and migrating data from the existing SAP ECC landscape.

Responsibilities

Required knowledge and experience

• Identifying and clearing backlogs within the data migration workstream.
• Analyzing SAP ECC data and performing data quality assessments.
• Performing data cleansing and harmonization activities.
• Defining and documenting mappings between ECC and S/4HANA.
• Preparing migration objects according to the migration design.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders for data validation and decision-making.
• Supporting migration testing, mock loads, and dress rehearsals.
• Performing reconciliation and validation checks between source and target systems.
• Identifying and mitigating data-related risks and dependencies.
• Preparing progress reports and migration documentation.
• Actively contributing to the organization's migration readiness towards the planned S/4HANA transition.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP Data Migration projects.
• Demonstrable experience with SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA migrations.
• Experience with SAP Migration Cockpit, SAP Data Services, LSMW, or similar tooling.
• Experience with data analysis, data cleansing, and data quality improvement.
• Experience with large-scale transformation programs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
