Job description
Seeking an experienced SAP EWM Process Architect to optimize warehouse processes after a recent migration from SAP WM. The role involves end-to-end process design, EWM customizing, and acting as a liaison between IT and logistics.
Project overview
Project Data
For my client, I am looking for an experienced SAP EWM Process Architect with customizing responsibility. My client recently switched from SAP WM to SAP EWM. The standard was significantly adapted in favor of a lean process, and Handling Units were deliberately not introduced initially. Since then, media breaks and additional effort in picking, goods issue, and inventory management have become apparent in operational use.
We are not looking for a slide consultant, but a practitioner who thinks through the warehouse processes end-to-end, develops a viable target vision from a logistics perspective, and implements the solution in EWM customizing themselves. The role starts with an as-is analysis and target vision and then moves into implementation, meaning the functional weighting is heavier. They will act as the interface between IT and logistics. Where development is necessary, they will formulate robust requirements for internal IT and existing development service providers.
Demonstrable results from comparable projects are important in the discussion.

- Development of a target vision for a lean warehouse process without unnecessary corporate complexity
- Conception and introduction of Handling Units in live operation
- Customizing and configuration in SAP EWM to implement the target vision
- Optimization of mobile scanner dialogues and feedback of inventory differences into the scanner process
- Restoration of loading control and reduction of manual postings
- Analysis of interface problems between ERP and EWM and coordination of the solution with internal IT
- Close collaboration with logistics management, operational key users, and internal IT
Requirements
- Several years of practical experience in SAP EWM, including independent customizing, demonstrable in migration projects from WM or ECC/R3 to EWM
- Experience in EWM process design and architecture, including Handling Unit concepts
- Solid understanding of warehouse logistics processes, from goods receipt to loading
- Experience with mobile RF/scanner applications and their adaptation to the needs of the workers
- Experience in analyzing integration problems between ERP and EWM
- Reference projects with concrete, presentable results
