SAP HCM Migration Consultant (m/f/d) – predominantly Remote

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for an experienced SAP HCM Migration Consultant (m/f/d). You will be responsible for migrating sensitive personnel data from non-SAP legacy systems into an SAP HCM/H4S4 landscape and will oversee the entire process from conception to go-live.

The Framework Conditions

• Period: 23.11.2026 to 30.06.2027
• Assignment: predominantly remote
• Occasional on-site assignments in Schwerin, Rostock, or Neustrelitz
• Total scope: approx. 1,264 hours
• Of which approx. 1,138 hours remote and 126 hours on-site
• Contract type: Freelance

Responsibilities

• Conceive, plan, and execute the migration of personnel data from non-SAP legacy systems into an SAP HCM/H4S4 landscape
• Analyze and evaluate existing data stocks
• Define requirements for data cleansing and data preparation
• Create and coordinate data mapping and transformation rules for the SAP HCM target structures
• Execute and support data migrations for the SAP HCM components Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Payroll, and Time Management
• Develop suitable migration methods using LSMW, SAP Migration Cockpit, ETL tools, and, if necessary, customer-specific ABAP solutions
• Create and update the migration concept, including migration objects, mapping rules, dependencies, and quality assurance measures
• Plan and conduct test migrations, and analyze and resolve data and migration errors
• Ensure and validate the quality, completeness, and consistency of the migrated personnel data
• Create and coordinate cutover and go-live plans for the final data transfer
• Support the test, cutover, and go-live phases technically and functionally
• Document migration processes, results, and relevant technical and functional decisions
• Ensure a structured and data protection-compliant handling of sensitive personnel data

• Profound experience with technical SAP HCM migrations
• Good knowledge of SAP HCM processes and target structures
• Experience with SAP HCM PA, OM, PY, and PT
• Practical experience with SAP Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW)
• Experience with SAP Migration Cockpit and ETL tools
• Knowledge of ABAP/4 and customer-specific migration solutions
• Experience with data mapping, transformation, data cleansing, and quality assurance
• Knowledge of the SAP HCM environment in the public sector
• Experience in creating technical concepts
• Very good German language skills
