SC Cleared Test Engineer

Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for an SC-cleared Test Engineer with government experience and a background in Scala or Java-based environments to join a long-term, fully remote programme.

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and delivery managers
• Support the implementation and maintenance of automated testing solutions
• Ensure quality standards are met throughout the software development lifecycle

£450 per day (Inside IR35)

Contract: 12 Months (with potential extension)

We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Test Engineer to support the delivery of a high-profile government digital programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of critical public sector services within an agile development environment.

Key Requirements

Desirable Skills

• Active SC Clearance (current and transferable)
• Proven experience working on Government/Public Sector projects
• Strong background in manual and automated testing
• Experience testing applications developed using Scala and/or Java
• API testing experience using tools such as Postman or REST Assured
• Experience operating within Agile/Scrum delivery teams
• Strong understanding of test planning, execution, defect management, and reporting
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps
• Experience with performance and non-functional testing
• Knowledge of cloud-based environments
