We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to support a major public sector transformation programme involving sensitive data, cloud-based services, and complex enterprise technology landscapes.

This role would suit senior security professionals with extensive experience defining security architectures, providing assurance across large-scale programmes, and ensuring compliance with organisational security standards within highly regulated environments.

Working closely with programme leadership, architects, engineering teams, and security stakeholders, you will take ownership of security architecture, controls, governance, and assurance activities, helping to ensure the programme delivers secure, compliant, and resilient services from design through to implementation.

Contract Length: ASAP Start - Until 31st March

• Own and lead security architecture activities across the programme.
• Define, implement, and maintain security controls aligned with organisational and government security standards.
• Provide security assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring solutions meet regulatory, operational, and data protection requirements.
• Review solution designs and technical architectures to identify security risks and recommend appropriate mitigations.
• Work closely with cloud, platform, data, and application teams to embed security-by-design principles.
• Support security governance, risk management, and architectural review processes.
• Conduct security assessments and provide guidance on threat modelling, security controls, and risk treatment strategies.
• Ensure the secure handling of sensitive and regulated data across cloud-hosted services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, programme teams, and delivery partners to maintain compliance with security requirements.
• Produce and maintain security architecture artefacts, documentation, and assurance evidence.
• Support accreditation, assurance, and security sign-off activities where required.
• Promote security best practice and contribute to the wider security capability across the programme.
• 10+ years' experience in Security Architecture, Cyber Security, or Enterprise Security roles.
• Proven track record delivering security architecture and assurance across large-scale transformation programmes within the public sector or other highly regulated environments.
• Strong experience securing AWS-based platforms and services, with expertise in cloud security, IAM, network security, encryption, and secure-by-design principles.
• Experience defining security controls, governance processes, risk assessments, and assurance activities for sensitive or regulated data.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, accreditation, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working within complex multi-supplier environments and collaborating across architecture, engineering, and delivery teams.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, CCSK, TOGAF, or AWS Security Specialty are desirable.
• Experience with Zero Trust, DevSecOps, and modern cloud security practices would be advantageous.

Hybrid, onsite twice a month to client sites in London
