For the conception of a secure, regulatorily compliant, and at the same time user-friendly Digital Workplace for China and other high-risk countries, we are looking for an experienced freelance Senior Advisor / Project Manager.

The focus is on developing a viable target vision including governance, security, processes, and operating model. The role is primarily advisory and steering-oriented. Technical implementation will be carried out by internal teams and existing service providers.

We are looking for an experienced consultant with proven expertise in international workplace and security transformations, ideally with extensive project experience in China.

Development of a holistic target vision for, among others:

Definition of the necessary architecture principles, security controls, and governance requirements as a basis for subsequent technical implementation.

Processes & Operating Model

Development and design of end-to-end processes, for example:

Additionally, development of a sustainable operating model with clear roles, responsibilities, governance structures, decision paths, and RACI models.

You will advise and manage a strategically relevant transformation project with high visibility in an international environment. Your task is to develop a robust target vision for secure and compliant workplace solutions in China and other high-risk countries and to successfully guide the organization through the implementation. The technical implementation is deliberately left to the internal expert teams.

• Development of an approach to balance global corporate standards with local requirements
• Several years of senior-level experience in Digital Workplace, Cyber Security, and Enterprise IT
• Experience as Senior Advisor, Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect, Program or Project Manager
• Proven project experience in Mainland China
• Experience in building or transforming international workplace and security solutions
• Deep understanding of modern workplace, endpoint, and Zero Trust architectures
• Very good knowledge of:
• Microsoft Intune
• Microsoft Entra ID
• Conditional Access
• Endpoint Security
• Privileged Access Management
• Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
• Experience with Network Security, Remote Access, and solutions like Zscaler
• Experience with VDI, EVD, or comparable virtual desktop architectures
• Knowledge of Security Monitoring, Incident Response, and Endpoint Remediation
• Experience in developing governance structures, operating models, and end-to-end processes
• Strong consulting and communication skills
• Strong stakeholder management at management and expert levels
• Ability to translate complex requirements into actionable concepts and decision-making bases
• Structured and pragmatic working method
• High degree of independence and assertiveness
