Project overview
Senior AI/ML Engineer - Manchester
Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite
Contract: 6 months rolling
IR35: Inside IR35
Key Skills Required:
- Production Python engineering, API development, automated testing and asynchronous or distributed services.
- PyTorch, transformer architectures, inference and model evaluation.
- Agentic AI: ReAct or comparable patterns, tool calling, memory, reasoning and orchestration.
- Production RAG, embeddings, chunking, indexing, vector search, retrieval, ranking and grounding.
- GCP, including Vertex AI, cloud compute, storage and databases.
- Docker, model packaging and serving through KServe, Vertex AI endpoints or equivalent Kubernetes-native platforms.
- MLOps: feature/model registries, CI/CD, continuous training, monitoring, version management and drift detection.
- Autoscaling, GPU scheduling, canary/shadow deployments, rollback strategies and A/B testing.
