Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and optimise AWS infrastructure across production and non-production environments.
• Review existing environments, identify technical risks and deliver improvements across security, resilience and performance.
• Implement and maintain security controls across IAM, networking, encryption, logging and monitoring.
• Support compliance requirements through configuration reviews, remediation, documentation and audit evidence.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and support incident investigation and resolution.
• Maintain backup and disaster recovery arrangements, including recovery testing.
• Work closely with engineering, architecture and security teams to embed AWS best practice.
• Produce clear technical documentation, operational procedures and handover materials.
• Strong hands-on AWS engineering experience across a broad range of services.
• Solid knowledge of core AWS services, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Practical experience securing AWS environments and resolving security findings.
• Experience supporting compliance requirements and working with security or governance teams.
• Strong understanding of networking, access management, encryption and infrastructure resilience.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Confident troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a remote team.
• Clear communication skills and a practical approach to solving problems.
• Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and CIS AWS Foundations Benchmark.
• Experience with AWS Config, Security Hub, GuardDuty or similar services.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and secure deployment practices.
• Relevant AWS certifications.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS Engineer with broad, hands-on AWS expertise and a strong focus on security and compliance. You will support, maintain and improve AWS environments, ensuring they are secure, reliable and well managed. This role would suit a strong all-rounder who is comfortable working across infrastructure, networking, automation and operational troubleshooting.
