For a short-term cloud transformation project, we are looking for an experienced freelance Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (m/f/d). The focus is on the design, implementation, and optimization of modern Microsoft Azure infrastructures, as well as the automation of cloud environments. We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer with in-depth knowledge of Azure, Infrastructure-as-Code, and hybrid cloud architectures.

• Design, implementation, and operation of modern cloud infrastructures based on Microsoft Azure
• Planning and implementation of secure, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures
• Automation of the deployment and configuration of cloud resources using Infrastructure-as-Code
• Development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines and automation of recurring operational processes
• Implementation and further development of monitoring, logging, and security concepts
• Support with cloud migrations and the setup and further development of Azure Landing Zones
• Configuration and administration of Azure IaaS and PaaS services
• Planning and implementation of hybrid network and VPN solutions between cloud and on-premises environments
• Collaboration with development, DevOps, and security teams to implement cloud-based solutions
• Analysis and resolution of technical issues and continuous optimization of the cloud infrastructure
• Technical leadership and support within the project team on cloud-related issues
• Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
• In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Azure platform and relevant Azure services (including Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, Storage Accounts, Azure Resource Manager, and Azure DevOps)
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, e.g., Terraform, Bicep, or ARM Templates
• Very good knowledge of PowerShell, Bash, and ideally Python
• Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines and with GitHub Actions and Azure Policy
• Knowledge in the area of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) or Azure Virtual Desktop
• Experience with Windows Server infrastructures and Azure IaaS and PaaS services
• In-depth knowledge of Cloud Security, Monitoring, and Cost Optimization
• Experience with hybrid network architectures, VPN solutions, and hybrid or multi-cloud environments
• Experience in cloud migration projects and the design and implementation of Azure Landing Zones
• Experience in technical leadership or coordination of cloud projects is an advantage
• Very good English skills, spoken and written; German skills are an advantage
