Senior C++ Software (m/f/d) Desktop Applications

Duties:

For our client, we are currently looking for an experienced Senior C++ Engineer (m/f/d) to support the further development and modernization of a complex desktop application in a technically demanding environment. The focus of this project is on enhancing application performance, modernizing legacy components and ensuring a stable, scalable software architecture.

Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of high-performance C++ desktop application components
• Analysis and optimization of application performance, runtime behavior and scalability
• Design and implementation of multithreaded and concurrent software components
• Modernization and migration of legacy technologies to modern C++ and current .NET environments
• Integration and maintenance of desktop application frameworks and third-party components
• Close collaboration with software architects, QA engineers and product management to deliver high-quality solutions
• Support the use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code) for code analysis, refactoring and software modernization

Requirements

-Several years of professional experience in modern C++ software development

-Experience integrating frameworks such as Qt or CEF

-Hands-on experience with CMake, Conan and MSVC

-Solid experience in performance analysis, debugging and optimization of desktop applications

-Fluent English (written and spoken) is required and German language skills are considered a plus

Nice to have

-Experience modernizing legacy applications (e.g. MFC, ATL, Win32 or Delphi)

-Practical experience with AI-supported development tools such as Claude Code or similar coding agents
