Project: LNG Terminal Brunsbüttel

For a long-term infrastructure project in the vicinity of the LNG terminal in Brunsbüttel, we are looking for an experienced Senior Construction Manager / Senior Site Manager (m/f/d) with extensive experience in managing and controlling complex industrial and plant construction projects.

You will be responsible for the overall coordination and control of all construction and assembly activities within an approximately 2.6 km long infrastructure corridor. You will act as the central interface between project management, site supervisors, executing companies, and the involved specialist departments.

We are looking for an experienced leader who independently manages construction processes, coordinates multiple trades and subcontractors, masters critical interfaces, and independently initiates appropriate measures in case of schedule deviations and technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsible management and coordination of construction and assembly activities in the infrastructure corridor
• Creation and updating of the overarching Construction Plan, including schedule and resource planning
• Technical leadership and management of Site Supervisors, as well as coordination of executing companies and subcontractors
• Cross-trade management of Civil Engineering, Steel Construction, Piping, Lifting and Crane Operations, and Testing Services
• Monitoring of construction progress, deadlines, quality, resources, and HSE requirements
• Control of critical interfaces and Hand Over Points (HOP), including necessary approvals and handover documentation
• Schedule and progress control, critical path assessment, and development of counter-measures, ideally with Primavera P6
• Creation and evaluation of look-ahead plans, progress analyses, delay notifications, and regular progress reports
• Identification and assessment of technical, schedule, and organizational risks, and independent initiation of appropriate measures
• Support of change order and claim management through assessment of hindrances and additional/reduced services
• Monitoring of proper construction and assembly execution according to technical specifications, standards, and project requirements
• Ensuring compliance with applicable HSE regulations, permits, and work permits in coordination with responsible parties
• Management of construction site logistics, including deliveries, storage and crane areas, and traffic management
• Overall management of defects, deviations, and punch lists, as well as preparation and support of acceptance procedures
• Coordination of transitions to Mechanical Completion, Pre-Commissioning, and System Handover
• Ensuring complete assembly and project documentation, and regular coordination with project management and the Schäfer Group

Requirements

• Many years of relevant professional experience as a Senior Construction Manager, Senior Site Manager, Construction Lead, Head Site Manager, Assembly Manager, or in a comparable senior role
• Demonstrable experience in the independent management and control of complex industrial, plant construction, or infrastructure projects
• Profound practical experience in the cross-trade coordination of multiple executing companies and technical departments
• Experience in the technical leadership of construction managers, site supervisors, and other site responsible persons
• Very good knowledge in several of the areas Civil Engineering, Steel Construction, Piping, and Industrial Assembly
• Strong competence in managing construction processes, resources, interfaces, and critical project deadlines
• Profound experience in progress control and schedule management; knowledge of Primavera P6 is an advantage
• Experience with Mechanical Completion, Pre-Commissioning, System Handover, and cross-trade Punch List Management
• Confident handling of technical specifications, construction and assembly documents, as well as quality and HSE requirements
• Experience in assessing construction process disruptions, hindrances, additional services, and change orders
• Strong decision-making ability, assertiveness, and a confident demeanor towards clients, subcontractors, and project participants
• Ability to quickly grasp complex issues, set priorities, and make robust decisions even under high schedule and performance pressure
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working with a strong sense of responsibility
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken
