Senior Consultant IT Financial & Service Management – Freelance

Project overview

For a demanding transformation project, I am looking for an experienced Senior Consultant (m/f/d) in the area of IT Financial Management and IT Service Management for a client.

Framework Data

The goal of the project is the conceptual further development of the existing IT budget control into an integrated IT Financial and Service Management. Existing processes, cost models, and data foundations are to be analyzed, standardized, and further developed into a transparent steering basis for the entire IT.

• Duration: Until 31.12.2027, extension possible
• Utilization: Approx. 160 working days
• Location: 70% remote, 30% on-site in Berlin
• Contract Type: Freelance / Project basis
• Language: German, at least C1

Responsibilities

• Analysis and optimization of existing IT budget control processes, including budget planning, forecasting, CAPEX/OPEX, and variance analysis
• Conception and further development of IT Financial Management structures, cost models, and cost allocation methods
• Further development of IT Service Management, particularly service catalogs, service lifecycles, and performance assignments
• Development of uniform governance, reporting, and control standards for the entire IT
• Conception of integrated data and reporting models for linking costs, budgets, IT services, utilization, and capacities
• Analysis of cross-departmental interfaces between IT, Controlling, Purchasing, and Service Management
• Identification of standardization, optimization, and automation potentials
• Creation of well-founded recommendations for action, results documentation, and decision papers

Requirements

Fluent German skills (at least C1)

• At least five years of relevant project experience in IT Financial Management, IT Controlling, or IT Budget Control
• Sound knowledge in ITFM and ITSM
• Experience with budget planning, forecasting, and CAPEX/OPEX considerations in the IT environment
• Demonstrable expertise in cost models, cost allocation, and economic efficiency analyses
• Knowledge of relevant frameworks, e.g., ITIL, TBM, or FinOps
• Experience in developing cross-departmental control models and governance structures
• Sound knowledge in reporting, BI, and data-based control models
