Cyber Security Engineer (Defender for Endpoint)

Reading or Havant
We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer with Defender for Endpoint implementation and service engineering experience to join a delivery and service engineering team. You will ensure technology is engineered, changed and operated securely, embedding security into new and existing systems, validating controls and supporting secure-by-design delivery.

- Analyse technical requirements with application owners and vendors
- Assess security exception requests and validate risk impacts of configuration changes
- Propose security configurations and develop solutions with product owners and vendors
- Submit recommendations to Heads of Cyber for approval
- Microsoft security technologies (Defender for Endpoint, Sentinel, Entra ID, Intune)
- Strong knowledge of Windows and server infrastructure, networking, authentication and endpoint security
- Experience with risk, compliance and security governance processes
- Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell preferred)
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of authentication and passkey technologies is advantageous
