Role: Senior Cybersecurity Consultant – Network & Infrastructure Security

Responsibilities

• Analysis of existing IT infrastructures regarding possible vulnerabilities, technical attack surfaces, and necessary security improvements.
• Conception and optimization of protective measures for corporate networks, communication channels, and central infrastructure services.
• Technical assessment and further development of security solutions in the areas of firewalls, network segmentation, secure access methods, DNS security, and web gateways.
• Development of future-proof security concepts, taking into account existing legacy systems, virtualized environments, and cloud-based technologies.
• Technical support for strategic IT change projects with a special focus on security architecture, technical feasibility, and operational stability.
• Investigation of new cyber threats and attack scenarios, as well as development of suitable technical countermeasures, also with regard to automated and AI-based attack patterns.
• Consulting and support for various IT departments on complex issues regarding the security of networks, platforms, and hybrid infrastructures.
• Identification and prioritization of technical security risks, as well as derivation of concrete recommendations for action.
• Coordination of technical security measures with relevant stakeholders, as well as comprehensible preparation of decision-making bases for different management levels.

Requirements

• Sound professional experience in technical information security, ideally with a focus on network architectures, infrastructure security, or Cyber Threat Defense.
• In-depth knowledge of common network technologies, security components, and technical protection mechanisms within larger corporate structures.
• Practical experience with firewall infrastructures, secure network access, segmentation concepts, and other solutions for defending against cyberattacks.
• Strong understanding of current cyber threats, typical attack patterns, and suitable technical defense strategies.
• Experience with historically grown IT environments and the integration of modern security solutions into existing system architectures.
• Knowledge in the security-technical support of infrastructure modernizations, cloud integrations, or company-wide IT transformation programs.
• Ability to assess technical security concepts from both an architectural and operational perspective.
• Structured, solution-oriented way of working and the ability to combine different technical and organizational requirements.
• Confident demeanor towards technical contacts, decision-makers, and control bodies.
• Very good German skills (at least C1) and good English skills (at least B2).
