Job description

Lead the end-to-end data migration to the COBAST core banking SaaS solution, ensuring data completeness, consistency, and usability. Define migration strategy, plans, and oversee data quality, reconciliation, and cutover.

Project overview

Context

COBAST aims to replace the legacy banking system with a SaaS core banking solution. The mission covers data recovery, definition of mapping and transformation rules, quality controls, reconciliations, migration repetitions, and cutover preparation. The consultant must ensure mastery of the migration process without replacing the functional managers of each domain.

Missions

Required experience and skills

  • Lead the end-to-end migration of data to COBAST and provide proof that the migrated data is complete, consistent, reconciled, and usable by the target processes.
  • Define, maintain, and get validation for the migration strategy and its sequencing.
  • Build the migration plan, recovery waves, dry runs, and the final cutover.
  • Define the source-target mapping framework and ensure traceability of transformation rules.
  • Coordinate legacy extractions, loads into COBAST, and rejection analysis.
  • Define Data Quality rules, acceptance thresholds, and the anomaly processing procedure.
  • Define and produce reconciliation controls, with the necessary evidence for Go/No-Go.
  • Coordinate business validation of mappings by domain BAs: Customers, Accounts, Payment Methods, Credit, and Accounting.
  • Work with the Test & Quality Lead to integrate migration into test campaigns and end-to-end validation.
  • Lead risks, dependencies, decisions, and blocking points related to migration.
  • Prepare the cutover runbook, rollback plan, and post-migration support system.
  • Proven experience in data migration within a complex application program; core banking experience is highly desired.
  • Mastery of source-target mappings, transformation rules, Data Quality, and reconciliation.
  • Practical experience with migration repetitions, cutover, and rejection management.
  • Good understanding of banking data: customers/parties, accounts, loans, transactions, balances, and accounting data.
  • Ability to analyze large files and data models; SQL highly appreciated.
  • Ability to coordinate business, IT, Data, and SaaS vendor stakeholders.
  • Excellent documentation rigor, risk awareness, and ability to make explicit decisions.
