Senior DevOps Engineer – Linux & Platform Automation (100%)

Description

For our client in the banking sector, we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to build a new virtualization platform and further develop a modern Linux and container infrastructure. The focus is on automating the entire server lifecycle, developing internal APIs and self-service tools, as well as the security and stability of the platform.

• Responsible for the entire lifecycle of the Linux-based server and platform infrastructure – from conception and setup to operation and continuous development
• Co-design and build a new virtualization platform
• Automate provisioning, patching, and decommissioning, as well as develop reusable automation services
• Operate and further develop automation and orchestration tools such as GitLab CI/CD and Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Design and implement APIs, CLI tools, and service components for simple and secure self-service access to the infrastructure
• Implement technical and organizational measures to reduce cyber risks
• Analyze and resolve disruptions, including systematic root cause analyses and sustainable improvements to automation, system hardening, and interfaces

Requirements

• 5–8 years of relevant professional experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a comparable role
• Sound experience with Linux-based server and platform infrastructures
• Confident handling of OpenShift or Kubernetes as well as experience with Git, container technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Sound knowledge in at least one programming language such as Python or Go and experience in developing maintainable tools, interfaces, and automations
• Experience in the design and implementation of APIs, for example with REST and OpenAPI
• Ideally, knowledge in authentication, authorization, logging, and monitoring in the API environment
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, or Chef
• German language skills at C2 level and English language skills at B1 level
