Job description
A large German bank is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build and operate an end-to-end test automation pipeline for a platform consisting of Spring Boot microservices, Kafka, Kubernetes, and an Angular frontend. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on tooling and pipeline development.
Project overview
Senior DevOps Engineer, Test Automation
A large German bank is expanding a long-term platform project with a new team. The platform consists of Spring Boot microservices communicating via Kafka and running on Kubernetes, as well as an Angular frontend. Four teams are already developing functional features. The new team tests the entire platform end-to-end in an automated test suite. They are responsible for the tooling and pipeline of test automation and write the code that connects the tools. This is an engineering role with a lot of hands-on involvement, not test management.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate the end-to-end test automation pipeline across the entire platform
- Integrate test tooling into CI/CD and Kubernetes deployments with Helm and ArgoCD
- Create automated end-to-end tests with Playwright and TypeScript for the Angular frontend
- Build API integrations between test tooling, Jira, Confluence, and ALM Octane to document test evidence for regulatory purposes
- Track and debug Kafka message flows between services
- Implement complex business processes in automated tests
- Collaborate with test managers, architects, and business departments of the client
