Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer - GitLab CI & Enterprise Proxy

Project overview

For an ongoing project in an enterprise environment, I am looking for a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer with a strong focus on GitLab CI/CD, Enterprise Proxy environments, and Build/Artifact Management. We are not looking for a classic CI/CD administrator, but an experienced engineer who can independently analyze and sustainably solve complex build and deployment problems in highly regulated enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

Analysis and optimization of an existing GitLab CI/CD landscape with multiple repositories. Standardization of existing pipelines via central templates. Troubleshooting of proxy, repository, and artifact problems in a restrictive corporate network. Configuration and optimization of GitLab Runners on Kubernetes. Integration and administration of Nexus Repository Manager. Setup and customization of container builds with Kaniko. Optimization of Go and Java/Maven/Gradle builds in the enterprise environment. Migration of existing repositories to a uniform CI/CD target state.

Ensuring stable deployment processes, including rollback and risk considerations.

Requirements

Very strong experience with GitLab CI/CD. GitLab Runners on Kubernetes. Sound experience with corporate proxies and proxy troubleshooting. Nexus Repository Manager, proxy and group repositories. Kaniko. Go Build Toolchain including GOPROXY, GOSUMDB, GOPRIVATE and Vendoring. Maven / Gradle repository configuration. Very good Linux and Shell knowledge. Experience with cross-repository CI/CD migrations and central templates.
