Senior Engineer / Specialist High-Voltage Cables

Project overview

As a technically responsible person, you will work on underground high-voltage connections, from feasibility study to execution preparation.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Translating customer wishes and project requirements into reliable cable designs
• Preparing and approving technical specifications and design documents
• Performing and assessing complex calculations and studies
• Advising on route choices, installation methods, and design options
• Verifying the manufacturability and feasibility of designs
• Reviewing and approving designs submitted by engineers and external parties
• Coordinating test and validation processes, including FAT and SAT plans
• Monitoring safety, reliability, and compliance with standards
• Acting as the technical point of contact for clients and project teams
• Liaising with grid operators, contractors, and other parties
• Identifying and managing technical risks within the project
• Coaching and managing engineers, designers, and junior team members
• Developing and improving standards and working methods
• Contributing to technical proposals and cost estimates for new projects
• A completed technical Bachelor's or Master's degree, for example in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Energy Engineering
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in complex high-voltage infrastructure
• Background in cable engineering and underground high-voltage connections
• Practical experience in designing, realizing, or managing high-voltage projects
• Experience in feasibility studies, basic design, and detailed engineering
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering
• Good command of the Dutch and English languages
• Experience in guiding and training colleagues
