Senior Frontend Engineer

Project overview

Our client, a leading insurance company in Central Switzerland, is looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to strengthen an agile product team in ART Sales. The focus is on the development and further development of modern, user-friendly web applications with Angular and TypeScript, as well as the independent implementation of demanding technical requirements in an agile cloud/DevOps environment. High code quality, modern engineering practices, and the targeted use of AI-based development tools play a central role.

Remote work from abroad is not possible.

Responsibilities

• Conception, development, and further development of modern, performant, and user-friendly frontend applications with Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and SCSS
• Independent analysis of complex requirements and development and implementation of sustainable, architecture-compliant solutions
• Development of reusable web components, considering usability, accessibility, and user experience
• Ensuring high software quality through automated end-to-end tests and UI testing with Storybook and Chromatic
• Active participation in an agile product team and close collaboration with business departments and other development teams
• Use of modern AI-based coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot to optimize development processes and code quality
• Continuous improvement of existing applications, technical solutions, and engineering practices
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and active knowledge exchange within the team
• Support in identifying and resolving complex technical challenges

Requirements

Soft Skills

• Several years of in-depth professional experience in frontend development at a senior to expert level
• Very good practical knowledge of Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and SCSS
• In-depth experience in developing web components and a strong understanding of accessibility, usability, and user experience
• Experience with modern DevOps practices and cloud-based development environments
• Very good knowledge of developing and conducting automated end-to-end tests and UI testing with Storybook and Chromatic
• Experience in the conception, implementation, and documentation of architecture-compliant software solutions
• Confident and efficient use of AI-based coding assistants, especially GitHub Copilot
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Knowledge of backend development with Java is an advantage
• Very good German language skills at at least C1 level for communication with business departments and development teams
• Strong hands-on mentality and an independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working
• High sense of responsibility and quality standards in technical implementation
• Analytical thinking skills and the ability to efficiently solve complex technical challenges
• Proactive and constructive collaboration within the team and across team boundaries
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical issues appropriately to the audience
