About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to build and own the media format services behind a programmatic advertising platform that serves billions of impressions a year. You will work across the full path of a creative: from video and image ingestion and processing, through APIs, to delivery and rendering inside web players, news sites and e-commerce stores.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and operate media services end to end: ingestion, processing, APIs and production delivery.
- Build low-latency, high-throughput backend services that turn large, noisy, real-world data into value.
- Work hands-on with video and image pipelines, web players and content embedded into third-party interfaces.
- Own production quality: security, monitoring, observability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners and data scientists, and raise the bar for how backend systems are built and run.
- Iterate fast: changes are safely tested against real traffic, and an idea often reaches validation in days rather than weeks.
- Contribute to the next generation of ad products and formats.
- Use modern AI development tooling as a normal part of your daily workflow.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including running production systems.
- Strong Node.js/TypeScript (or a comparable language) with a backend focus.
- Strong React experience. You will build and maintain the customer-facing interfaces around these services, so this is a fullstack role rather than a backend-only one.
- Solid, hands-on AWS experience: ECS/EKS, RDS, SQS, CDK, MediaConvert, CloudFront. You should be able to name the services you have used, explain what you built with them, and be comfortable helping out on the infrastructure side at scale.
- Practical experience with media: video and image processing, media delivery, and embedding web content or players into different interfaces (apps, news websites, e-commerce).
- Experience taking a product from idea to production ownership, including monitoring, iteration and long-term maintenance.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and software engineering best practices.
- Experience building systems that handle structured but skewed and noisy data.
- Experience with AI-enabled development as part of your everyday workflow.
- Based in Europe and comfortable working in an English-speaking, distributed team.
