Senior Fullstack Developer Angular & Python

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Fullstack Developer for an agile DevOps team that develops and operates an innovative platform for simulating traffic operations. The cloud-based application answers questions about punctuality, capacity, and the effects of construction measures on traffic networks.

The platform runs on AWS with a modern tech stack: Angular frontend with Standalone Components and signal-based state management, Python backend with FastAPI, serverless data pipelines, and a C++ simulation engine. You will work in a mono-repository with GitLab, fully automated CI/CD pipelines, and agile sprints. AI-assisted development in agent mode is an integral part of daily work.

Your tasks include the further development of the Angular web application with data-driven analysis views (time series, maps, tables), the expansion of the WebGL-based map visualization for infrastructure and vehicle movements, and the development of editor interfaces for various data objects. You will build reusable UI components based on a design system and integrate REST, GraphQL, and Protobuf-based interfaces.

In the backend, you will develop REST endpoints with FastAPI, Pydantic, and SQLAlchemy, extend GraphQL APIs for large data volumes, and optimize serverless data pipelines with AWS Lambda, Batch, and S3. You will contribute to reducing technical debt and increasing test coverage through automated tests.

The project is predominantly remote with approximately 45 days of on-site presence per year in Frankfurt am Main. The work must be performed in Germany. Contract for 12 months with an option to extend. Freelancers welcome.
