Senior Functional Safety Engineer (ISO 61511) / Process Safety Consultant

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Senior Functional Safety Engineer (ISO 61511) or Process Safety Consultant to support a demanding space project in Sweden.

The focus is on the further development and implementation of processes in the area of functional safety according to ISO 61511 in a highly innovative environment of rocket technology. The project is already in the implementation phase, which is why an experienced specialist is sought who can quickly familiarize themselves with existing structures and deliver immediate added value.

Responsibilities

RequirementsMust-have

• Auditing existing functional safety processes according to ISO 61511
• Identification and implementation of improvement measures in the area of functional safety
• Preparation, moderation, and leadership of HAZOP workshops
• Preparation, moderation, and leadership of LOPA workshops
• Conducting risk and hazard analyses
• Creation and maintenance of safety-relevant documentation
• Close cooperation with engineering and project teams
• Support in complying with regulatory and normative requirements
• Advising the client on efficient and practice-oriented safety processes
• Several years of professional experience as a Functional Safety Engineer, Process Safety Engineer, or comparable
• Very good knowledge of the ISO 61511 standard
• Experience with HAZOP and LOPA methodologies
• Experience in safety and risk analyses
• Ability to independently moderate and lead workshops
• Business fluent English skills

Framework conditions

• Experience in the fields of petrochemicals, chemical plant construction, oil & gas, LNG, or industrial process plants
• Knowledge in the field of cryogenics
• Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and SIL assessments
• Interest in innovative space and rocket technologies
• 100% remote possible
• Onsite onboarding for approx. 1-2 weeks in Parsdorf near Munich
• Subsequently, approx. 2 on-site appointments per month by agreement
• Assignment is carried out within the framework of the client's valid compliance and purchasing guidelines
