Project overview
For one of our customers we are looking for a GUI / Frontend Engineer for embedded systems.
Responsibilities
- Build the acquisition monitoring UI: live frame preview, parameters, pipeline state, real-time alerts.
- Implement data browsing and inspection for streaming detector frames and processed outputs.
- Integrate with backend: gRPC client, ZMQ subscriptions, keep the UI responsive under 100+ kHz throughput.
- Own the configuration workflows: algorithm parameters, pipeline routing, data export.
- Ship production-grade Tauri + Rust + framework code (React/Vue/Svelte) that is clean and maintainable.
- Validate with users iteratively; challenge assumptions based on user research.
Requirements
Project information:
- Shipped production desktop applications; hands-on Tauri or deep Rust + modern frontend framework.
- JavaScript/TypeScript, gRPC/ZMQ integration, comfortable reasoning about real-time constraints and responsiveness.
- Experience with high-throughput data visualization or integrating GUI layers with performance-critical backends (C++, Rust, Go).
- Self-directed: own the frontend end-to-end without detailed specs. User-empathetic and pragmatic. Ship production code, don't over-engineer.
- Bonus: Electron microscopy domain, Holoscan familiarity, Windows + Linux shipping, HDF5/NeXus experience
