Job description

Project overview

We are a Global Recruitment specialist that provides support to the clients across EMEA, APAC, US and Canada. We have an excellent job opportunity for you.

Role Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our technology team and play a critical role in the design, implementation, and operation of modern cloud and platform engineering capabilities. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code, who thrives in complex, enterprise-scale environments and is passionate about building secure, resilient, and highly scalable platforms.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will work closely with engineering teams, architects, security specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative cloud-native solutions that support critical business services. You will contribute to platform strategy, drive automation initiatives, enhance operational excellence, and help shape the future of cloud and infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to cloud, DevOps, and platform engineering initiatives across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Kubernetes, delivering secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure capabilities.

Work within one or more engineering pods, helping define technical requirements, conducting design reviews, and providing hands-on engineering support throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Design, build, configure, and operate AWS-based solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), primarily Terraform, to improve consistency, reliability, and deployment efficiency.

Develop and enhance Kubernetes platform capabilities to support increasing demand while improving resilience, scalability, performance, operational efficiency, and developer experience.

Implement and maintain cloud cost management practices, including resource tagging, allocation, rightsizing, capacity planning, usage monitoring, and cost optimisation strategies.

Support the evaluation and adoption of open-source technologies and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions, ensuring alignment with security, privacy, licensing, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Apply robust release management and production-readiness processes, including automation, deployment governance, monitoring, alerting, logging, rollback procedures, and incident preparedness.

Collaborate with Cloud Services, Application DevOps, Architecture, Security, Risk, Compliance, and IT teams to ensure platform standards, remediation activities, and delivery objectives are consistently achieved.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance platform stability, security, observability, and operational excellence.

Skills & Experience Required

Extensive hands-on experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps within large-scale enterprise environments.

Proven experience designing, building, deploying, monitoring, and supporting production platforms and cloud infrastructure.

Strong practical knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes, with experience delivering highly available, secure, resilient, and scalable solutions.

Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.

Experience with modern DevOps practices including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), automated testing, version control, and controlled production deployments.

Working knowledge of technologies including Docker, Helm, service mesh technologies, Python, cloud-native deployment tools, monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms.

Experience supporting cloud migrations and addressing governance, compliance, security, resilience, capacity management, and operational readiness challenges.

Strong understanding of cloud financial management, resource governance, and cost optimisation, with the ability to identify and implement measurable improvements.

Sound understanding of security best practices, architecture governance, compliance requirements, risk management, and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience working within Agile, Scrum, and DevOps delivery frameworks.

Desirable Experience

Experience evaluating, integrating, or operating multi-vendor Large Language Model (LLM) workloads within AWS and Kubernetes environments.

Previous experience within a highly regulated industry, particularly financial services or banking.

Familiarity with collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Relevant cloud, Kubernetes, or DevOps certifications would be advantageous.
