Contract: Initial 6-month contract, with a view to becoming permanent for the right person

We are looking for an experienced IT Operations/Network Engineer to join a UK & Ireland IT team, supporting critical infrastructure across 60+ sites, 2 major warehouses and HQ. This is a senior 2nd/3rd Line position with a strong focus on networking, infrastructure, complex troubleshooting and project delivery within a large multi-site environment.

• Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure across multiple UK & Ireland sites.
• Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VLANs, VPNs and enterprise Wi-Fi.
• Provide advanced 2nd/3rd Line support for complex network and infrastructure issues.
• Support Windows Server, Linux, physical/virtual Servers and SAN/NAS environments.
• Manage network security, Firewall rules, access controls and infrastructure resilience.
• Support Azure, AWS or GCP and hybrid environments.
• Lead infrastructure upgrades, network rollouts and new-site deployments.
• Investigate major outages and carry out root-cause analysis.
• Work closely with ISPs, hardware vendors and wider IT teams.
• Maintain network diagrams, technical documentation and support procedures.
• Use PowerShell, Bash or Python for automation where required.
• Strong hands-on Network Engineering/Infrastructure experience.
• Advanced knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls and enterprise Wi-Fi.
• Experience supporting large multi-site environments.
• Strong server and infrastructure administration knowledge.
• Good understanding of network security and best practices.
• Experience delivering infrastructure projects and upgrades.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Confident managing complex incidents and supporting junior IT engineers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
