The Agile Logistics cluster is part of IT Operations. NS develops and manages complex IT systems that support processes, including the planning and control of rolling stock, schedules, and train personnel. In short, the team ensures that trains can run on time.

Where will you work?

The work location is Utrecht, but the team currently works hybrid, both on-site and from home. The team is developing not only in terms of technology but also in its way of working.

For example, the team is fully committed to Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, and DevOps. This happens within a Release Train with six Agile teams with a multidisciplinary composition. You will receive space and time from them and from NS to spar, share knowledge, and learn.

The next steps in the technological roadmap involve expanding the systems with important functions, for example, to allow trains to run closer together, to enable better central control, and to exchange information with the train maintenance department.

• You have 5 – 7 years of recent and relevant work experience as a developer in a complex IT landscape
• You have demonstrable experience with development in Java, Spring Boot, REST web services (experience with Java EE, JMS, Azure is a strong plus)
• You have demonstrable experience with container platforms (such as Docker, Kubernetes or similar)
• You have excellent command (both spoken and written) of the Dutch language
• You have knowledge of Relational databases (experience with Oracle DB and PostgreSQL is a plus)
• You have demonstrable experience with multi-user systems, creating user interfaces, and automated testing
• You have experience with asynchronous messaging solutions in real-time systems (Experience with ActiveMQ is a plus)
• Experience with Java EE, JMS and Azure is a strong plus
• Experience with Oracle DB and PostgreSQL is a plus
• Experience with ActiveMQ is a plus
