Senior Java Developer

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer for the conception, implementation, and further development of complex software solutions. You will make architectural and design decisions and ensure technical quality throughout the entire software lifecycle.

Your tasks include the development and integration of sophisticated backend components in Java as well as frontend components with modern frameworks. You will be responsible for interfaces and integrations into existing system landscapes and ensure high code, security, and quality standards through reviews, tests, and refactorings.

We expect at least 5 years of project experience in professional software development with Java and proven expertise in architecture, design, and implementation of complex solutions. Several years of experience with Spring Boot, modern frontend frameworks like Angular and JavaScript, as well as solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control, container technologies, and Kubernetes are required.

Further requirements include experience with test strategies, code reviews, refactorings, and performance optimization, routine handling of common project management and collaboration tools, as well as project experience with Git and GitLab. Proven project experience in the energy sector and knowledge in the area of critical infrastructures are advantageous.

Very good English and German language skills (level C1 each) are required.

The position is limited to 24 months with an option for extension. The role is full-time with a high remote component. Start date is December 2026 / January 2027.
