Senior Java / Java EE Backend Developer

Project overview

For a long-term modernization project in the public sector, we are looking for several experienced Senior Backend Developers Java / Java EE.

The project focuses on the step-by-step replacement of existing legacy applications and the new development of backend procedures in modern Java technologies.

You will work in dedicated Scrum teams on procedure modernization with a focus on Java / Java EE, RESTful APIs, service-oriented architectures, and DevOps/container environments. Your tasks include senior backend development, analysis of existing applications and interfaces, design and technical conception of software systems, and integration into existing system landscapes.

Furthermore, you will support the implementation of security requirements (authentication, authorization, encryption), conduct code reviews, optimize performance, and support test automation. You will work with modern development tools such as Git, Maven, Jenkins, and collaboration platforms, as well as in agile Scrum processes.

Requirements

Extensive experience in Java / Java EE backend development, knowledge of RESTful APIs, database technologies, and DevOps environments. Familiarity with version control, build management, and agile methods required.

Project details

Bavaria with approx. 80% remote share and 10% on-site presence.
