Senior Java/Kotlin Application Engineer - Maintenance & Security - GIS Environment

Project overview

For the long-term maintenance, support, and further development of web-based environmental applications, we are looking for experienced Java/Kotlin developers.

The focus is on the technical modernization of productive applications, the further development of functional features, and the fixing of bugs and security vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and further development of Java/Kotlin applications with Spring

Execution of version and framework updates

Error analysis, debugging, and bug fixing

CVE remediation and implementation of security patches

Adaptation of relational databases and REST interfaces

Maintenance and further development of geo and factual data functions

Refactoring and reduction of technical debt

Regression testing, CI/CD, and deployment of patches and containers

Requirements

Java or Kotlin with Spring / Spring Boot

Angular and TypeScript

Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices, DevOps, and CI/CD

Experience with maintenance and further development of productive web applications

Knowledge of REST APIs and relational databases

Experience with GIS/geodata processing, especially spatial data and geometry types

Error analysis, software testing, and release processes

At least 12 months of relevant professional experience

Completed university degree with proof

German language skills at least C2

Desirable:

Oracle or comparable relational databases

disy Cadenza Workbooks or comparable GIS integrations

CVE analysis, security patching, and IT security

Test automation and software QA

Keycloak / IAM

Requirements management and technical conception

Experience with public administration and environmental applications

Relevant certificates in IT security or agile methods
