Senior Java Software Engineer

Project overview

Our client is one of Austria's leading corporate and investment banks with a presence in Central and Eastern Europe. In the area of Sustainable and Public Finance, the bank operates its own solution for managing cover pools for covered bonds. Work is carried out in a multicultural team in close coordination with the business department.

Responsibilities

• Development of web application software for a cover pool management solution in the area of Sustainable and Public Finance.
• Maintenance and further development of a long-established Java Enterprise application.
• Writing well-structured, documented, and testable code.
• Development of unit and integration tests. Taking over the main development responsibility for the product.
• Close cooperation with the business department in clarifying business requirements.
• Working with CI/CD and version control (Gradle, SVN, Git).

Further Details

• At least 7 years of practical development experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, SOAP, and JAXB.
• Experience with web technologies such as JavaScript, ideally Apache Cocoon.
• Sound experience with CI/CD and source code management (Gradle, SVN, Git). Experience in maintaining long-established enterprise applications.
• Experience in developing unit and integration tests. Basic knowledge of banking, ideally in cover pool management, and a discernible interest in banking.
• Proactive, team-oriented, and self-responsible way of working.
• Very good communication skills in a multicultural environment.
• Good English skills, German skills are an advantage.
• maximum possible hourly rate 55,- Euro
• Hybrid 2/3 days remote / week – 2 days per week on-site in Vienna
