Senior Linux System Engineer

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux System Engineer for an exciting infrastructure modernization project. The location is flexibly designed with remote possibilities, starting in November 2026 with a minimum duration of 3 months.

Your tasks include comprehensive analysis and evaluation of heterogeneous service and system landscapes as well as identification of optimization potential. You will design and implement automation and configuration solutions and contribute to the further development and standardization of the platforms used. A focus is on planning and executing migrations of existing services into modernized target environments – with particular emphasis on stability and continuity. Finally, you will document the implemented measures and support knowledge transfer to internal teams.

We expect a completed degree in computer science or a comparable field, or an IT vocational training with relevant professional experience. Several years of practical experience in the administration of complex Linux system landscapes is required. You should have sound knowledge of Ansible and Puppet as well as automation and configuration management. Experience with modern infrastructure and middleware technologies such as Kubernetes, GitLab, Elasticsearch, Artifactory, ActiveMQ, MinIO and similar systems is advantageous.

Confident handling of complex IT service landscapes, a structured analytical working method, and in-depth knowledge of OpenLDAP complete your profile.
