Context and challenges

As part of the development and operation of its strategic Digital Backbone platform, a large international group is looking for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator / DevOps with a strong system focus.

The mission takes place within the Digital & New Services Directorate (DIR-DNS), in close collaboration with the Solution Delivery Lead (SDL), the DevOps chapter lead, and the Product Owner of the Digital Backbone team.

Key point: this is not a DevOps position primarily focused on Kubernetes or GKE. The need is primarily for an expert with recent, significant, and operational experience in Linux administration, operation, and maintenance (MCO), combined with a solid mastery of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The objective is to ensure the reliability, security, automation, and performance of the platform's infrastructure and services.

• Administer, operate, and maintain Linux/Unix environments.
• Provide operational support and resolve production incidents.
• Diagnose malfunctions, analyze performance, and perform advanced troubleshooting.
• Ensure the availability and reliability of services in compliance with RUN best practices and SLO, SLI, and SLA indicators.
• Deploy components and services of the Digital Backbone platform.
• Design and maintain infrastructure automations with Terraform and Ansible.
• Develop and maintain Bash and Python scripts to automate system operations and deployments.
• Ensure the reliability and industrialization of configurations and deployment processes.
• Design, deploy, and maintain GitLab CI pipelines.
• Automate the deployment of services from development environments to production.
• Integrate security requirements into development and deployment processes.
• Implement best practices for secret management, pipeline security audits, and production environment security.
• Ensure the protection of company data and assets through appropriate security controls.
• Work on infrastructure and services hosted on Google Cloud Platform.
• Implement the platform's monitoring, observability, and alerting systems.
• Build and maintain supervision dashboards for Digital Backbone services.
• Participate in cloud environment security.
• Contribute to FinOps initiatives and infrastructure cost optimization.
• Write and update technical documentation for infrastructure components and CI/CD chains.
• Collaborate with the Solution Delivery Lead, Product Owner, and technical teams.
• Apply DevOps engineering practices in an Agile and international context.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational and deployment processes.
• Automation scripts and configurations for service deployment.
• CI/CD pipelines compliant with security requirements and internal DevOps chapter recommendations.
